Screen Shots on PC
If you are running Windows95 or WindowsNT, you can capture an image of your screen using the "print screen" (PRINT SCREEN) key.
(For details, look up "screen capture" under the Windows Help.)
To make a "screen shot":
- Press ALT+PRINT SCREEN (grabs image of active window) or PRINT SCREEN (grabs image of entire screen.)
- Open up a graphics program -- like Paint -- that can read bitmapped images.
- Use the program's "paste" menu option to paste in the screen shot image. The image should appear in the graphics program window.
- Save the image.
What happens when you press PRINT SCREEN or ALT+PRINT SCREEN is that Windows copies an image from your screen into the clipboard. You can then "paste" (control-V) the image into any program that can cope with bitmapped images. One simple program you can use for this is "Paint," which typically comes pre-installed with Windows computers. You should be able to find it under the "accessories" menu: see Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Paint.
